Abstract

The author presents the Ukrainian translation of Kazimierz Twardowski’s Lecture “Why Knowledge is Power?” which was held during the Opening of the General University Lectures in Lviv on the 10th of November in 1912. In this lecture the founder of Lviv-Warsaw School considered the essence of knowledge, its types (natural, humanitarian and philosophical) and characteristics, and emphasized on the importance of philosophical knowledge, because it frees a human being from false judgments and illusions.
