Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is 1.5 spaced; uses a 14-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal
- Languages of publications: Ukrainian, English, German, French.
TOPIC OF THE ISSUE
TOPIC OF THE ISSUE (a set of articles united by a common topic, narrower then the topics of the standard TH; the editors of this TH each time are the authors of concrete thematic project approved by the Editorial Board: they can be members of Editorial Board or/and other leading experts in the relevant field; this TH is not present in all journal issues; usually one topic corresponds to one issue, but sometimes the same topic may be extended to one or more of the following issues; previous themes of this TH:
«Kant and Analytic Philosophy», «Fichte and the Theory of Consciousness», «Could «National Philosophy» be strictly defined Research Object?», «Philosophy and Russian Literature», «Kantiana», «Michail Bakhtin and the First Philosophy».
ARTICLES
This Section publishes the results of original researches.
In our magazine this section is traditionally divided into several Thematic Headings (TH). Editorial Board distributes the articles by TH taking into account the author’s opinion. Usually no issue of the journal contains a full set of TH. Editorial Board may create a new TH or cancel the existing ones. Currently, there are 12 standard TH, and the titles of some of them varied over time:

EARLY MODERN PHILOSOPHY (former titles: Modern Philosophy, 17th Century Philosophy);
18TH CENTURY PHILOSOPHY;
19TH CENTURY PHILOSOPHY;
20TH CENTURY PHILOSOPHY.
Articles on topics which are not subject to strict chronological identification, are published in the TH named
PANORAMA.
Methodological TH:
CATHEDRA (articles on innovations in the field of the history of philosophy as a subject of teaching);
METHODOLOGICAL STUDIES (articles on general comprehension of the history of philosophy as a research field, as well as specific methods of historical and philosophical studies; former title: Historical and Philosophical Laboratory);
TOOLS (articles on the history of philosophical concepts and terms, analysis of their untranslatability, substantiation of Ukrainian translations of philosophical texts and terms).
TH that are out of use:
Doctrines, Modern/Postmodern, Eastern Europe, Philosophy and Education, Philosophy and Theology.
ARTICLES : SUPPLEMENT
This Section publishes translations of authoritative foreign historico-philosophical articles which were printed out, but up to now never translated into Ukrainian.
DISCUSSIONS
Former title: Polemic.
PHILOSOPHICAL HANDBOOKS
Section is dedicated to dialogic forms of historico-philosophical education.
TRANSLATIONS
This Section publishes classical philosophical texts translated for the first time into Ukrainian language; usually the text is presented in bilingual commented format; former title: Origins.
TRANSLATIONS: SUPPLEMENT
This Section publishes (1) articles on the classical philosophical texts published in Section «Translations»; (2) substantiation or critical analysis of respective translators’ conceptions.
ARCHIVES
This Section publishes texts of manuscripts published for the first time.
ARCHIVES: SUPPLEMENT
This Section publishes articles on the texts of manuscripts published under the section Archives.
REVIEWS
This Section publishes reviews of the new books and articles devoted to historico-philosophical topics; former title: Book Reviews.
NEW EDITIONS
This Section publishes bibliographic data of the new historico-philosophical books and articles with descriptions of their content.
ACADEMIC LIFE
This Section publishes reports about historico-philosophical conferences, seminars etc.
