Author shows that formulation of this concept was mainly due to the understanding and use of the term a priori, which prevailed in philosophy of XVIII century (Wolff, Baumgarten, Lambert, Hume, Leibniz) and remained essentially ambiguous. From the historical point of view Kant’s definition of this concept can be seen as an attempt to give the uniqueness of the term a priori. ER -
